How is your wildflower jewellery made?

  • Wildflowers are gathered from my property in Central Australia, where I carefully manage the land to support native growth.
  • Each flower is hand-picked at its natural peak.
  • Flowers are preserved slowly, either air-dried or pressed in the traditional way between the pages of a book.
  • Every petal and bloom is thoughtfully arranged by hand.
  • Each piece is built in layers using multiple pours of resin to create depth and clarity.
  • The resin is left to cure naturally, a process that can take up to 7 days.
  • Many of the findings, including hooks, are handmade to complement each design.
  • No two pieces are ever the same — each one is a unique expression of the landscape it came from.

Where do you source the wildflowers?

The wildflowers I use grow naturally on our family property in Ilparpa, just 10km southwest of Alice Springs in Central Australia. Many of these blooms are native to this region, thriving in the unique desert landscape—and found nowhere else in the world!

When are the wildflowers in bloom?

The wildflower season in Central Australia is generally during the winter months from June - September. We need good autumn rain for the seeds will germinate in winter. Some wildflowers will be seen all year round, however the winter months are when they are the most prolific.

Do you make custom pieces?

Yes, I can make custom-made pieces. Contact me direct to discuss your request on lyndal@natureofalice.com.au

What resin do you use?

It is Art Cast Australian-made resin that is UV stable, crystal clear with high gloss finish and super high strength and scratch resistant.

Is every piece of jewellery unique?

Absolutely! Due to the unique, organic nature of the wildflowers, each piece of jewellery is truly one-of-a-kind displaying different shapes, sizes, colours and textures. Minor imperfections or bubbles may appear and are part of the aesthetic appeal of these handmade earrings and not considered a fault.

What are the jewellery findings made from and are they handmade?

All of the earring hooks are handmade from scratch. The gold and silver plated hooks are handcrafted from 20 gauge half hard temper jewellery wire. Perfect for making earrings and keeping their shape.

The sterling silver 925 wire is mined and made in Australia whilst the 14k gold filled wire is made in the USA. 14k gold filled looks, feels and wears like solid gold. It has a 'real' layer of gold which is significantly thicker and more durable than gold plated.

Both sterling silver 925 and 14k gold filled wires are then handmade into the earring hooks.

The surgical stainless steel studs, hoops and huggies are premade and purchased in Australia.

For peace of mind, all of the jewellery findings are nickel & lead free and tarnish resistant.

Care Instructions?

Store out of direct sunlight to preserve the jewellery. Avoid wear in water and whilst sleeping. Avoid contact with lotions, potions and sprays. Wipe clean with a soft cloth. Like all jewellery it is best to put on last and take off first.
