Our Story
Wildflowers of Central Australia
Welcome to Nature of Alice.
My name is Lyndal, and I am Nature of Alice.
Our family property is nestled among the iconic West MacDonnell Ranges in beautiful Central Australia, Northern Territory—an area of extraordinary natural beauty. Just 10km southwest of Alice Springs, in the region of Ilparpa, our property is not just where we live—it is inextricably woven into how we create and connect to our beautiful landscape.
Nature of Alice grew from a love of the wildflowers on our land—a way of connecting with my family, our environment and the simple beauty around us. It’s something I’ve found deeply grounding, restorative and uplifting and I hope I can share that experience with you too.
What we make
My unique jewellery pieces are handcrafted from our very own homegrown and handpicked Central Australian wildflowers. These delicate flowers are set in Australian-made resin to preserve and showcase them and handcrafted into one-of-a-kind earrings, pendants, brooches, bangles and key rings. You will not find these anywhere else in the world! Custom orders are welcomed too!
I also offer by appointment viewings. Contact me for a personal showcase of my pieces at your home or hotel in Alice Springs!
Our home amongst the Wildflowers
We manage our land to control the invasive buffel grass, allowing native wildflowers to flourish naturally. Thanks to these conservation efforts, our property is proudly registered as a Land for Wildlife site.
I was born in Darwin, have lived in many places near and far, and now settled in Central Australia with my husband and 4 teenage children. My parents were primary producers so I was lucky to grow up on the land. Still nursing after more than 35 years, I now consider myself to be a nurturer and 'farmer' of wildflowers!
Wildflower species
Over 60 different species of local wildflowers and native plants grow on our property including many varieties of the Billy Button, Ptilotus (Mulla Mulla) and everlasting daisies along with the iconic Sturt's Desert Pea and the NT floral emblem the Sturt's Desert Rose. We also have an abundance of acacia (mulga & wattle), cassia and eucalyptus along with many other Australian natives.
